Why wouldn't I just hire a full-time designer?
Hiring a full-time senior-level designer can set you back over £80,000 a year, and that’s without considering benefits—good luck finding a talented one available, too. Plus, there’s the issue of downtime; sometimes, you just won’t have enough work to keep them busy.
With our monthly plan, you’ve got freedom. Pause and resume whenever you need, so you’re only paying your designer when there’s actual work on the table.
How long does a subscription period last
Each subscription period lasts 22 working days (2024 average working days a month) starting from payment. You’ll be able to requests design tasks the same day as payment and depending on the size of task you could see your first designs within a day.
What does unlimited design requests really mean?
It’s as straightforward as it sounds. With us, you get unlimited design requests and revisions every month. Just send in your design request, and once it’s checked and given the green light, your designer will jump right into the next task you want worked on.
Who will be my designer?
You might be surprised to hear this, but Tokyo Calm is actually an agency of one. This means you’ll work directly with me, Seth Matisak, founder and Creative Director of Tokyo Calm. I’ve worked with mega companies like Nestle, Amazon, Tate & Lyle and Newcross Healthcare while also taking on early and scale-up start-ups.
Additional requests outside our normal services such as animations or custom illustrations are provided by trusted design partners that I know and trust can deliver high quality work.
How fast will I receive my designs?
On average, most requests are completed in just two days or less. However, more complex requests can take longer.
Who owns the creative output?
You and your company will own everything Tokyo Calm produces for you. If you want the native files you can even have those.All design work is created in the Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
How does pausing work?
We get it—sometimes you might not have a ton of design work lined up for the entire month. Maybe you just need one or two things done right now. That’s where pausing your subscription can be a lifesaver.
Here’s how it works: Our billing cycles run on a 31-day basis. So, let’s say you sign up and use our service for 21 days, and then you decide to hit pause. This means your billing cycle gets paused too, and you’ll still have 10 days of service left to use whenever you’re ready in the future.
When is the studio open and closed?
The Tokyo Calm studio is open 9:30am – 5pm Monday-Friday.We observe all national holidays plus a few weeks a year for family holidays.
Your subscription will be credited any days the studio is closed during normal working weeks.
How do I request designs?
At Tokyo Calm, we’re all about maximizing the convenience of Trello for your design requests. Whether you’re directly submitting on Trello, sharing Google docs or wireframes, or even recording a brief Loom video, if it’s Trello-friendly, it’s fair game!
Is there any design work you don't cover?
Absolutely. Tokyo Calm does not cover the following design work: HTML Coding, 3D modelling, animated graphics or overly complex packaging.
What if I only have a single request?
No worries! If you’re all set for now, you can simply hit pause on your subscription and come back whenever you’ve got more design tasks on your plate. Don’t let any unused time slip away—it’s there for you when you need it.
Are there any refunds if I don't like the service?
Because our work is top-notch quality, we don’t offer refunds. But trust us, with over 50 satisfied companies under our belt, refunds haven’t even been on the table.
What if I don't like the design?
No problem at all! We’ll keep tweaking the design until it’s absolutely perfect and you’re completely satisfied, guaranteed.
